Units

A unit may be vulnerable with regard to the spread of fire and smoke especially if there are hollow spaces in-between or around the units. These hollow spaces can act as draught-holes. This does not just apply to unit constructions but also, of course, to light prefabricated buildings. Fire fighting in these spaces is difficult because they are not easy to reach. The fire is concealed and can spread fast and unimpeded through these spaces over large distances. There are a few specific points that requires special attention with regard to unit constructions to ensure the probability of this happening is as small as possible. One of these areas is the compartmentalisation or filling with non-inflammable material of the hollow (wasted) spaces between the stacked units and between the units and the shell structure.
Firetexx has a solution to this problem. A few units were realised in partnership with a unit builder that included the fire-resistant cloth material of Firetexx. The material was processed into the wall with regard to these units.
